Hey friends -
I wanted to send a quick note to thank you for all of your kind messages this past week. It’s crazy to think that 1500+ of you have found me and subscribed to my Substack, Instagram & Threads in just the past two weeks.
As a words of affirmation person, your words of encouragement and appreciation have kept me going in the work of envisioning a more beautiful, decolonized, justice-oriented, reconstructed Christian faith that looks more like Jesus of Nazareth - a faith that is indeed good news for people in poverty and oppression. Cultural and political moments like this can be an opportunity for the just and liberating light of Christ to shine through these dark times! Even though I am concerned about much of what is going on, my heart is filled with an odd sense of hope because of you.
And thanks to each of you, I get the sense that I’m not alone. So thank you for making this journey less lonely!
This is a busy week for me - on the work front, the personal front, and the ministry front. I’m getting ready to preach a sermon on one of the Beatitudes at my home church this Sunday so as is tradition, be on the lookout for the sermon video + full manuscript next week.
I do however want to take a moment and share an exciting new development with you: my personal website!
New authors are expected to have personal websites - a virtual place for people to land and find all your resources / speaking engagement booking / book information.
So a few months ago, I started working with my friend, Eric Crow on my personal website. Eric is brilliant at this stuff - check out his work here! We’re still finalizing the branding details (something I’m also really excited about!) but I wanted you to be the first to get a sneak peak of this website.
I’m only doing a handful of podcast interviews for now (with more of this being done during book promotion season next year) but if you’d like to book me as an in-person / virtual speaker for your church / conference / institution, this is where you can do that too.
So without further ado, here’s presenting to you my personal website:
Like I said, this isn’t the final product. It’s more of a soft launch. So stay tuned for the final website announcement once it’s ready post-branding too!
Grace and peace to you in these crazy times,
JT
PS: I’d be incredibly grateful for your financial partnership in my work. I keep all my writing on Substack free and accessible but paid subscribers are a huge part of my ministry. Every dollar from my paid subscribers goes directly towards my seminary and ordination costs. Paid subscribers get a personal thank you email from me right away and a direct line of communication to communicate as they’d like. I’d be honoured if you partnered with me as a paid subscriber today!
Congratulations! God continues to use you in amazing ways.
Congrats! Love the look and feel so far.
